Merit Access allows you to modularly solve everything related to access control and entry to buildings, work time recording and data transfer for further processing.
Its main advantages are high modularity and modern design, which together create a versatile system that can be adapted to virtually any customer requirement. Another significant advantage is the ability to connect to surrounding systems, e.g. electronic security alarm, IoT smart home technology. There is also the possibility of integration with HR, visitor system, parking house, catering system.
The system basically consists of two types of components, namely input devices – these allow the connection of contactless card readers, biometric readers (fingerprint, iris), Dallas chip readers, virtual NFC cards for mobile phones, machine-readable zone readers for documents (ID, passport, visa), etc. As output devices, monitors can be used to display identified objects (people, cars), various types of barriers for vehicle entry, turnstiles and gates for person access, electromagnetic locks, or input/output modules for communication with other systems.
The entire system is managed via a web application, with a high level of customization to customer requirements. The system can be extended with mobile terminals connected to the center via wireless technology (Wi-Fi or Bluetooth). Since both input devices and output devices (actuators) are connected directly to the computer network, they transfer data online to the software control center or receive instructions. All logic, authentication and response to stimuli is software-controlled, making it possible to address virtually any requirement for stimulus response. We are therefore talking about a software-defined access system.
The key advantage that distinguishes us from the competition is the so-called "door unit." This unit controls doors or other output devices, stores data in its internal memory and then sends it to the central control unit via LAN or Wi-Fi (no physical cabling required). In the event of a communication failure with the central unit, the unit remembers the last states and can control doors or other entrances completely autonomously. That is, in off-line mode. Once connectivity to the central unit is restored, data is exchanged and everything works as if there had been no outage. This feature is absolutely essential when centrally managing multiple buildings connected via internet connectivity, where a connectivity interruption would make access to branch buildings impossible. The door unit eliminates this concern.
Another indisputable advantage is the high scalability of the system, where it is possible to use the same system to connect one door and expand to hundreds of doors in various locations. From the above, it follows that the entire system, including software, can also be hosted outside the premises and operated as a cloud solution. If centralization is required, it is possible to use, for example, one software control center at headquarters and have only sensors and actuators at company branches.
